I’ve never owned a Volvo or a wagon, and this might be my first one. I am genuinely excited for this car.

Platform by platform the F30 is way older than this Volvo, however, the volvo is FWD based, where the BMW is RWD based, maybe that changes your perspective on the ordeal!

I will reserve final judgement till I test drive both. I have driven the F30 3 series sedans many times, it’s no E90 or E46 but it is good, not great. We’ll see.

Already drove an E90 for several years, I am looking at minimum 3 years from now where I will need something bigger because possible kids, and I don’t want the same car again. Although I sorely miss the straight 6, The new turbo N20/B48 engines are good plus the ZF 8speed is one of the best out there, better than the old 6 speed. It’s the steering, taut handling and feel that they can’t match the E9xs. The Volvo is even more a compromise but I am willing to give that up because there are hardly any good options out there and I am looking at practicality besides just going with an SUV.
